Privacy notice

What we collect

• Waitlist (this website): your mobile number, and if you give them, your name, district and whether you ride or drive.
• Account: your mobile number (verified with a one-time SMS code, or by a code you send us on WhatsApp), your name and your language.
• Location: your pickup and drop points. During a trip, the live location of the auto. For drivers, location while they are online so that nearby rides can be offered.
• Trips: the route, distance, fare, how you chose to pay (cash or UPI), ratings, and any safety (SOS) alerts.
• Emergency contacts you add, who are texted if you raise an SOS.
• Drivers only: driving licence, vehicle registration (RC), permit, insurance, a photo, and records of pass payments (such as the UPI reference number).
• Device: a notification token so we can alert you about your ride. Crash reports contain no personal data.

We do not collect card or bank details. Fares are paid to the driver directly in cash or by UPI.

Why we use it

• To sign you in and run rides: matching riders with drivers, showing each other where you are, and working out the fare.
• For safety: start codes, trip sharing, SOS alerts to our team and your emergency contacts, and helping the police when the law requires it.
• To verify drivers before they can take rides, as the transport rules require.
• To tell waitlist members when we launch in their district.
• To prevent fraud, resolve complaints and meet our legal obligations.

We use your data only with your consent, or where the law otherwise allows it. We do not sell personal data and we do not show you third-party advertising.

Who sees it

• During a ride, the rider and driver see each other's name and phone number (so you can call each other) and the pickup point. The rider also sees the driver's vehicle number, rating and live location.
• People you share a trip link with see that trip until it ends.
• Service providers who work for us under contract: hosting, SMS delivery, WhatsApp (Meta) when you sign in with WhatsApp, maps and place search, and app notifications. They may only use the data to provide their service to us, and may process it outside India where the law permits.
• Government authorities and the police, when the law requires it or in an emergency.

How long we keep it

We keep personal data only as long as it is needed for the purposes above, or as long as the law (including the motor vehicle aggregator rules) requires us to keep records. Waitlist details are deleted once we have launched in your district and told you, or sooner if you ask. When data is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous.

Your rights

• Get a summary of the personal data we hold about you and who we have shared it with.
• Have inaccurate data corrected or completed, and ask us to erase data we no longer need.
• Withdraw your consent at any time. This is as easy as giving it. Withdrawing does not affect anything done before, but we may then be unable to provide rides.
• Nominate someone to exercise these rights for you if you die or become unable to.
• Have your complaints handled by our Grievance Officer. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

To use any of these rights, write to hello@savarigirigiri.com. We reply within 30 days.

Children

You must be 18 or older to create an account. A child may ride with a parent or guardian, who books the ride on their own account.

Security

Data is sent over encrypted connections, access is limited to staff who need it, and driver documents are stored privately. If a breach affects your data, we will tell you and the Data Protection Board as the law requires.
